Samuel Oundo was identified by the orthopaedic technologist during a major ward round at Siaya county referral hospital where he was admitted. He got amputated after being diagnosed with Diabetes.
Samuel is a bicycle repairer at Nyadorera centre in Alego Usonga Sub-County. His elder brother also suffered the same fate and is to be fitted with a bilateral above knee prostheses. He is married with Five children and the only family breadwinner.
He recently lost his toolkit after lending it to a friend who took advantage of his situation and disappeared. The branch has linked him to the regional officer – National Council for Persons with Disability for further intervention on tools of trade. Samuel is very grateful for acquiring the limps and looks forward in engaging in more activities without limitation.
