Ability beyond disability

APDK in collaboration with CISU-Denmark implemented the “Ability beyond Disability” project. The project aimed at training Youth with disabilities (Ambassadors) on advocacy. During the period under review, the project trained 15 selected APDK staff from the Nairobi branch and the National Office on advocacy for inclusion in the job market. The project also trained 25 parents on Economic empowerment and mentorship and further engaged 10 youth ambassadors with disabilities between the ages of 20-30 on an initiative to carry out awareness and engage in campaigns targeting various stakeholders through advocacy activities.  Through the initiative, a total of 11 (8F,3M) persons with disabilities secure employment. This will go a long way not only in changing their lives but also in their family and the community.
